‘Rachael’ Down, ‘Megan’ Up in Day 3

King World’s new syndicated daytime talk show “Rachael Ray” saw a ratings decline Wednesday, while NBC Universal’s debuting talker “The Megan Mullally Show” enjoyed an increase in viewers on its third day on the air.

“Rachael” scored a weighted metered market average 2.4 household rating and 8 share in 55 markets, according to Nielsen Media Research. That was down 17 percent from her 2.9 rating Tuesday, when the show’s featured guest was über talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

“Rachael” was up 8 percent over her lead-in on Wednesday (2.2/8) and up 14 percent from her September 2005 time period average (2.1/7).

“Megan” scored a 1.0/3 on Wednesday, up 11 percent from her performance Tuesday (0.9/3). That was still down 23 percent from its lead-in (1.3/5) and down 29 percent from its year-ago time period average (1.4/5).

For its first three days on the air, “Rachael” is averaging a 2.7/9, up 17 percent over its lead-in (2.3/8) and up 29 percent from its year-ago time period average (2.1/7). “Megan” has a three-day average of 1.0/3, down 17 percent from its lead-in (1.2/3) and down 29 percent from its year-ago time period average of 1.4/5.
