Four weeks into the season, ABC squeaked into another demographic victory over CBS. The week ending Oct. 15 was the closest race yet, with ABC garnering a 5.19 rating among adults 18 to 49 and CBS pulling in 5.15, followed by NBC (5.0), Fox (3.3) and The CW (1.9), according to Nielsen Media Research.

ABC has led the 18 to 49 ratings race the first four weeks, while CBS has steadily gained. Among households, however, there’s no contest. CBS handily won the week with a 9.5, followed by ABC (8.3), NBC (7.7) and Fox (6.2).

Once again, ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” was the top broadcast show both in the demo and in total viewers, earning a 9.4 demo rating and drawing 22.9 million viewers. ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” was second with an 8.3 in the demo and CBS’s “CSI” was third with a 7.5.
