ABC has ordered six episodes of the drama “October Road,” the network announced Tuesday.

The series, about an acclaimed young novelist who returns to his hometown to teach at a local university, stars Tom Berenger and Geoff Stults.

“October” will be produced under a collaborative programming deal among ABC, Touchstone Television and GroupM, a media investment management firm.

“GroupM has proven to be an excellent partner in organically connecting creativity with viewers and advertisers,” said Mark Pedowitz, president of Touchstone Television and executive VP of ABC Entertainment Television Group. “We were deliberate in choosing ‘October Road’ for its compelling story line that will resonate with the audience.”
