ABC Wins Week in Adults 18-49; CBS Wins in Total Viewers

For the week ended Oct. 8, ABC was the top broadcaster in adults 18 to 49, while CBS captured a win in total viewers.

ABC’s Thursday night medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” was the top broadcast show in both demographics, scoring a 9.4 rating in adults 18 to 49 and 22.8 million viewers, numbers that include live viewing plus same-day viewing via digital video recorders, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Sunday night one-hour “Desperate Housewives” on ABC was No. 2 in adults 18 to 49 with an 8.6, followed by the season premiere of ABC’s Wednesday drama “Lost” (7.7).

In total viewers, CBS’s Thursday procedural “CSI” took second place for the week, garnering 21.5 million viewers, followed by “Housewives” (20.9 million).

ABC was first for the week in adults 18 to 49 with a 4.0 rating, followed by CBS (3.8), NBC (3.6), Fox (2.7), Univision and The CW (both 1.5) and Telemundo (0.4). In total viewers, CBS was the top network for the week with 12.5 million, followed by ABC (11.3 million), NBC (9.9 million), Fox (7.8 million), The CW (3.5 million), Univision (3.3 million) and Telemundo (933,000).
