CBS edged out NBC as the top broadcaster in the adults 18 to 49 ratings group Monday, with help from its 10 p.m. drama “CSI: Miami.”

“CSI: Miami” scored a 5.9 preliminary national rating, a number that includes live viewing plus same day viewing via digital video recorders, according to Nielsen Media Research. That tied NBC’s new 9 p.m. drama “Heroes” for highest-rated broadcast program of the night in adults 18 to 49.

CBS’s 9 p.m. comedy “Two and a Half Men” was the No. 3 program among the broadcasters Monday in adults 18 to 49 with a 5.4 rating, followed by NBC’s 8 p.m. game show “Deal or No Deal” (4.4) and CBS’s 9:30 p.m. comedy “The New Adventures of Old Christine” (4.3).

At 8 p.m. CBS saw success with its most recent schedule shuffle, with “How I Met Your Mother” scoring a 3.6 rating. That was on par with its performance over the previous three weeks at 8:30 p.m., but helped boost the fortunes of former 8 p.m. comedy and its new lead-out “The Class” (3.7), which was up 37 percent from its performance last week.

On ABC the 9 p.m. reality series “The Bachelor: Rome” was on par with its two-hour premiere performance last week (3.1). At 10 p.m. the drama “What About Brian” premiered with a 3.0, down 6 percent from its time period debut in April. That made “Brian” third in its time period behind “CSI: Miami” and NBC’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” (3.8).

The CW also experimented with its Monday lineup, rerunning the season premieres of its four comedies that were originally scheduled for Sundays. At 8 p.m. “Everybody Hates Chris” scored a 1.2 rating in adults 18 to 49, with “All of Us” and “Girlfriends” both garnering a 1.0. “The Game” scored an 0.9.

An all-repeat Fox scored a 1.4 rating at 8 p.m. with “Prison Break” and a 1.2 rating at 9 p.m. for “Justice.”

CBS was the top broadcaster with a 4.8, followed by NBC (4.7), ABC (3.1), Fox (1.3) and The CW (1.0).
