CBS’s crime drama “Criminal Minds” continued to gain steam Wednesday night, becoming the first scripted program to top ABC’s “Lost” in total viewers and matching its best adults 18 to 49 delivery, according to Nielsen Media Research. The 9 p.m. drama’s 5.0 rating helped CBS take second place for the night, along with 10 p.m.’s “CSI: NY” (5.4) and 8 p.m.’s “Jericho,” which matched its lowest season-to-date performance (3.0).

ABC took its usual Wednesday night victory lap, winning the night with a 4.7 average compared with CBS’s 4.5. NBC was third with a 2.6, followed by Fox (2.1) and The CW (1.6).

For ABC, “Lost” matched its season low with a 6.6, 8 p.m.’s “Dancing With the Stars” had a 4.8 and 10 p.m.’s “The Nine” had a 2.6, its lowest rating to date.

NBC started the evening with “30 Rock” (1.7), which continues to decline with every episode. The show was followed by “20 Good Years” (1.5), “The Biggest Loser” (3.3) and “Dateline” (2.7)

On Fox, the premiere of its new 9 p.m. game show “Rich List” won’t be making anybody wealthy at the network. The series received a 1.5, Fox’s lowest number in that slot in more than a year. “Bones” opened the night with a 2.7.

The CW had “America’s Next Top Model” (2.1) and “One Tree Hill” (1.1).

Analysts noted that the combined ratings for ad-supported cable topped broadcast for the night, with nearly all of cable’s top 10 programs posting week-to-week gains.
