Black Friday Deals Posted

Nov 16, 2006  •  Post A Comment

Prices for high-definition TVs will indeed hit dramatic new lows on Black Friday, according to a Web site tracking national chain insertion ads for the day after Thanksgiving.
The fabled 42-inch HD flat panel for under $1,000 will be available at a couple of stores, with many other previously unheard-of deals available as well. The site, Blackfriday.info, lists ads for stores including Wal-Mart, Sears, Target, Costco and other major chains.
Many of the ads are for lesser-known brands, or manufacturers with less-than-stellar reputation for their HDTVs. But some retailers are cutting prices on TVs by Panasonic, Philips and Toshiba, which are among the better-rated brands.
According to the site, Wal-Mart and Best Buy will both offer 42-inch flat panels for under a thousand, with Wal-Mart offering a Sanyo 42-inch plasma for $998 and Best Buy a 42-inch Westinghouse LCD for $999.
Sears will have a Toshiba 42-inch plasma for $1,199. Circuit City will have a 50-inch Vizio plasma for $1,499. Costco, which has emerged as a favorite retailer among some HDTV buyers due to its liberal return policy, will offer coupons for $200 to $300-off on two HD plasma models. Sam’s Club will offer a 50-inch Philips plasma for $1,898 and CompUSA will feature a Panasonic 50-inch plasma for $2299.
