NBC Switches Nov. 19 NFL Game

NBC will air the game between the San Diego Chargers and the Denver Broncos, two teams with impressive 6-2 records, on Nov. 19, instead of a game between two teams with losing records that was originally designated for the prime-time broadcast.

The NFL had originally earmarked the Washington-Tampa Bay game to appear on “Sunday Night Football.” Instead, the NFL used its new “flexible scheduling” power to change the game that will appear in the prime-time showcase.

Fortunately for the league, and for Fox and CBS, there are many good games to go around Nov. 19. CBS, which lost the Chargers-Broncos game, opted to protect the undefeated Indianapolis Colts playing the always popular Dallas Cowboys. That game will start at 4:15 p.m. (ET). Fox protected the Chicago Bears vs. the New York Jets, a game involving the two biggest NFL markets.

The Redskins-Buccaneers game moves back to become a regional game for CBS.
