ESPN acquired a minority stake in the Arena Football League and will televise a minimum of 26 games per season under a five-year multimedia rights agreement announced Tuesday.

AFL programming will appear on 15 ESPN platforms, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN on ABC, ESPN Classic, ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD, ESPN.com, ESPN Deportes, ESPN360, Mobile ESPN Publishing, ESPN Radio, ESPN the Magazine and other ESPN Services.

ESPN also acquired the rights to air and syndicate AFL games through ESPN International.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The AFL games last season were shown on NBC under a revenue-sharing agreement that expired. NBC now shows NFL games. The AFL’s prior cable deal with OLN, now Versus, also expired.
