‘House’ Rerun Wins Tuesday Night

You know it’s a slow weeknight when a rerun is the highest-rated program on television.

On Tuesday, a repeat of Fox’s “House” pulled a 4.6 rating among adults 18 to 49, easily besting everything else on the broadcast networks and winning the night for the network. Its lead-in, “Standoff,” once again ranked fourth in the 8 p.m. hour (2.2), according to Nielsen Media Research national ratings.

ABC was second with the special “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” (4.8). Its freshman comedy block in the 9 p.m. hour, however, fared poorly. “Big Day” (2.3) was down 18 percent from its premiere, and “Help Me Help You” isn’t helping anybody, matching its lowest rating of the season (1.7).

NBC was third, with an on-par “Friday Night Lights” (2.4) and two “Law & Order” reruns.

CBS came in fourth with two procedural reruns, followed by its annual “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” (2.8), but still turned in its lowest delivery ever.

The CW’s “Gilmore Girls” was down slightly week to week (2.1).
