Fox News consumers on the go can take Fox News Channel with them via a new live, continuous audio feed to cellular devices.
Under a deal with Single Touch Interactive announced Wednesday by Jeremy Steinberg, VP of digital media sales and business development for Fox News, the mobile user accesses the feed by dialing #FOXN.
The service initially has rolled out on Cingular, which has some 58.7 million subscribers. It costs a flat $2.99 per month. In addition to the audio feed, users can get on-demand news, business and weather headlines; ring tones and voice tones; and a call-back service that alerts users when a particular program is about to begin.
STI Founder and CEO Anthony Macaluso called the service “a wireless technology breakthrough.”
