‘Grey’s’ Rules Thursday

Powered by “Grey’s Anatomy,” ABC had a Thursday night victory against a field strewn largely with repeats.

ABC started off the night with an “Ugly Betty” repeat, which earned a 3.3 rating according to preliminary Nielsen Media Research reports. “Grey’s” had an 8.8., down slightly from its average. But at 10 p.m., freshman drama “Men in Trees” hit a season high with a 3.9.

In second place was CBS, which also opted for a repeat at 8 p.m. (“CSI: Miami” with a 3.3), followed by an original at 9 p.m. (“CSI,” hitting a season low 6.6). A “Shark” repeat aired at 10 p.m. (3.8).

NBC aired a string of repeats, starting with “My Name is Earl” (3.4), “The Office” (3.7), “Scrubs” (2.4), “30 Rock” (1.8) and then back-to-back repeat specials of “The Office” at 10 p.m. (2.4 and 2.2).

Fox and The CW tied for fourth place, with Fox airing a “Til Death” repeat (2.0), an original “The War at Home” (1.8) and “The O.C.” (1.5).

The CW had “Smallville” (2.1) and “Supernatural” (1.4).
