The Westminster Kennel Club dog show has been a television staple for years. Now, GSN is going to give cat lovers their due.
GSN, the former Game Show Network, last week said it plans to air a two-hour special called “Cat-Minster: CFA International Cat Championship” on March 28.
The program will cover highlights of the 19th annual CFA International Cat Show, which features 700 felines in 55 different breeds from all over the world. It’s the largest pedigreed cat show in the Western Hemisphere.
The network said the first hour will look behind the scenes as breeders get ready to show their cats. The second hour will focus on the competition itself and the awarding of the Best in Show prize.
Bob Goen and Marianne Curan will be the hosts.
“Cat-Minster’ is a perfect example of GSN’s brand strategy to continue expanding into all other areas of competition. We believe that ‘Cat-Minster’ has the potential to become an annual tent-pole event for GSN,” said Dena Kaplan, GSN’s senior VP of marketing.
The special is being produced for GSN by Painless Entertainment, a production company that specializes in animal competitions. Jim Casey and Joe Carolei serve as executive producers
