Warning: This video contains explicit images that may be disturbing to some.

The setup: It was inevitable in this viral video age that someone would post a video of the hanging of Saddam Hussein. Naturally, broadcast and cable news networks took a conservative approach, showing only parts of the video. But the Internet has now risen up as the home for all forms of democratic media, from “Saturday Night Live’s” full explicit version of “Dick in a Box” to the opening of the gallows floor for the execution of a dictator.

The source: Iraqi state television broadcast the execution, but not the actual hanging. However, an official present at the execution captured the entire event with a cell phone camera. According to the Associated Press, that individual has been arrested.

The hits: The leaked cell phone video had attracted more than 12 million views on Google Video by Jan. 5, more than 2.7 million views on Break and close to 1 million views by Jan. 5.
