CBS invested an undisclosed amount in software company Electric Sheep in a partnership that calls for Electric Sheep to develop virtual worlds for several CBS properties. The investment is part of a $7 million round of funding for Electric Sheep that includes other backers.
CBS and Electric Sheep have previously worked together to create a virtual world for Showtime’s “The L Word.” Online virtual worlds are immersive 3-D experiences that let fans interact with the show and characters.
