For the fifth week in a row, Fox dominated Tuesday thanks to “American Idol,” which remains on track this season.

“Idol” received a 13.4 rating among adults 18 to 49, according to preliminary Nielsen Media Research figures. “Idol” once again fueled medical drama “House,” which slid 8 percent from last week’s series high but still matched its second-highest rating ever with a 10.2.

In second place, CBS surged with “NCIS” (3.9) and “The Unit” (3.3), both up double digits from their previous original episodes (at 10 p.m. the network slated a “Unit” repeat).

NBC was third with “Dateline” (2.1), “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” (2.7) and “Law & Order: SVU” (4.8). “Intent” fell 21 percent from its previous original airing, while “SVU” was on par.

In fourth place, ABC aired an “America’s Funniest Home Videos” repeat (1.5), an episode of “Primetime” (2.6) and “Boston Legal” (2.9).

The CW had “Gilmore Girls” (2.0) and “Veronica Mars” (1.1).
