SoapNet has acquired the rerun rights to “The O.C.” and “One Tree Hill” in a deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution.
The shows will begin to air April 9, with “The O.C.” airing at 6 p.m. weekdays and “One Tree Hill” at 5 p.m. weekdays, the network said Wednesday.
The shows are expected to appeal to younger women in the 18-34 demographic. The network’s top-rated series in that demographic is “Beverly Hills 90210, which leads into the newly acquired shows with episodes airing at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Deborah Blackwell, general manger of SoapNet, said the new shows “will resonate with our viewers and live perfectly alongside the top five rated daytime soaps and our other acquired prime-time dramas.”
