Rainbow Expands Skool Brand

Rainbow Media is expanding its original programming for video on demand and putting it all under a “Skool” umbrella.

Rainbow, which launched Sportskool three years ago with instructional videos for kids featuring well known athletes, is launching Lifeskool, which will replace Mag Rack as the company’s home for self improvement programming.

Next up from Rainbow will be MusicSkool, which will feature music lessons.

All Skool programming will be in high definition, the company said.

“Consumers are increasingly looking to lead richer, more engaging lives,” said Daniel Ronayne, general manager of Lifeskool, Musicskool and Sportskool. “With the extension of the ‘SKOOL’ brand, we intend to not only grow Rainbow’s VOD efforts, but build a powerful and unique VOD franchise.”
