Sci Fi Channel renewed “Battlestar Galactica” for another season.

The network ordered a minimum of 13 hours of the show, and production will resume this summer. New episodes are expected to premiere in January, 2008.

The program was moved to Sunday night last month, and its audience has grown in total viewers, female viewers and adults 18-49. The Jan. 28 episode posted the show’s highest rating since 2005.

“We’re thrilled to bring ‘Battlestar’ back for another season,” said Mark Stern, executive VP of programming, Sci Fi. ‘This series has delivered on every level-from the writing to the acting to the production values.”
