Time Warner Cable on Tuesday officially became a public company after Adelphia Communications Corp.’s Chapter 11 plan took effect.

Time Warner Cable had purchased cable systems from Adelphia, paying with shares of Class A common stock on July 31, 2006. Those shares will be distributed by Adelphia to stakeholders in the company starting within the next few days.

Time Warner Cable said it expects its Class A common stock to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange and to start trading as early as March 1.
