Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios has tapped the services of Faye Walker, former head of marketing for The Tennis Channel, as VP of worldwide television marketing. Ms. Walker will report directly to Jim Packer, president of worldwide television distribution.

In her new role at MGM (see recent MGM news), Ms. Walker will oversee the marketing of all MGM television programming worldwide, including cable and syndication, plus ad sales and VOD initiatives and campaigns. She will also oversee the creation of collateral marketing materials in support of new TV programs and feature films made for television as well as devise national and local syndication campaigns for the distributor’s new syndicated offerings “Reno 911!” and “Chappelle’s Show,” which were recently sold in the country’s top three television markets of New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

“Faye is a highly motivated, award-winning marketer with demonstrated leadership skills, creative vision and a proven track record in brand building,” Packer said. “In perpetuating MGM’s brand throughout the global television arena she will play an integral role toward our overall success.”

Previously, Ms. Walker served as VP of marketing for The Tennis Channel, where she built the marketing department from the ground up, overseeing every aspect of the network’s identity, from on-air graphics, corporate communications and advertising to sales materials and the company’s Web site.
