CBS acquired MaxPreps, an online network covering high school sports. MaxPreps will become part of CBS’s CSTV college sports cable and online network.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

MaxPreps uses a network of more than 10,000 coaches to compile information on about 80,000 football games and 500,000 girls and boys basketball games played each year. It also has a database of a million high school athletes and 400,000 photos.

“MaxPreps is the leader in serving millions of participants who are passionate about high school sports,” Brian Bedol, president and CEO of CSTV Networks, said in a statement Tuesday. “Our affiliate partners will benefit from the availability of this great content to feed their broadband and VOD channels.”
