CBS Television Distribution today named Bruce Pottash and Jon Birkhahn to the posts of executive vice presidents of legal and business affairs, respectively, at the company.

Mr. Pottash will be based in Los Angeles and assume primary responsibility for legal matters pertaining to the production of programming produced by the group, West Coast syndication licensing, cable licensing and library programming.

Mr. Birkhahn will work out of New York and focus on production and development agreements with talent and senior program personnel, distribution agreements with key program suppliers, East Coast syndication licensing and corporate matters.

“Bruce and Jon are both seasoned syndication veterans,” said Bob Madden, president and COO of CTD. “Their advice and counsel has been invaluable over the years to King World and CBS Paramount Domestic Television. Under their leadership, we know the department is in good hands.”

Prior to the appointment, Mr. Pottash served as Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and Legal for CBS Paramount Domestic Television, and Birkhahn served as Senior Vice President, Business Affairs, for King World Productions. The two divisions were merged in September 2006.

Mr. Pottash first joined the company as Senior VP of Legal and Business Affairs for Domestic Television in 1992, rising through the years to Executive Vice President. Previously, he had been VP of Business Affairs at Viacom Enterprises. Mr. Birkhahn joined King World in 1988.
