The Promax/BDA marketing organization has tapped film writer/director John Waters and fashion designer Kenneth Cole to join former President Bill Clinton as speakers at its 52nd annual North American conference in June.

“At every Promax/BDA Conference, we look to secure speakers who will both inform and motivate our members with their valuable experiences and insights,” said Lee Hunt, interim managing director of Promax/BDA. “Both of these individuals bring incredibly unique backgrounds and a world of creative knowledge to this year’s conference.”

Mr. Cole will give advice to attendees on how they can reach their desired core audience by establishing an indelible brand identity, using his understanding of the consumer’s wants and needs to establish a loyal consumer base.

Meanwhile, Mr. Waters will discuss how he found inspiration in the unlikeliest of places to create cult favorites such as the films “Pink Flamingos,” “Cry Baby” and the original version of “Hairspray.” The presentation will offer the lowdown on Mr. Waters’ obsessions that have influenced his work as a filmmaker, author and TV show host” in “‘Til Death Do Us Part.”

The conference will be held from June 12 through June 14 at the Hilton New York. Previous speakers have included Anderson Cooper, Dr. Maya Angelou, Larry King, Stephen Colbert, Robert Kennedy Jr. and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.
