ABC’s new drama “October Road” hit a ratings pothole Thursday night without an original “Grey’s Anatomy” lead-in, falling 31 percent from its prior average.

“Road” opened up with a 3.5 rating (8.1 rating among households) among adults 18 to 49 according to preliminary Nielsens, following repeats of “Ugly Betty” and “Grey’s.”

The ABC repeats led CBS to win the night in the demo and households with the top three shows. “Survivor” earned a 4.4 (8.1 HH), its lowest since October. “CSI” had a strong 7.1 (14.0) and “Shark” won its hour with a 4.3 (9.8).

ABC was second, then Fox, with “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader” earning a 3.6 (6.2 HH), on par with last week, followed by repeats.

NBC was forth with a repeat marathon for “The Office” interrupted by an original “Andy Barker P.I.” earning a 2.1 (2.6 HH) – a lower rating than any of the “Office” repeats.

The CW had repeats.
