The 13th Annual NAMIC Vision Awards was a celebration of variegation on Tuesday as it honored several shows for their efforts to increase diversity in original cable programming. MTV and Showtime championed the night, bringing home three awards a piece.

MTV’s triple crown included best animation for Nickelodeon’s “The Backyardians,” best actor-comedy to Carlos Mencia for Comedy Central’s “Mind of Mencia,” and best variety/talk show for TV Land’s “That’s What I’m Talking About.”

Showtime’s trio of honors came from best drama for “Sleeper Cell,” best actress-drama for “Dexter’s” Lauren Velez and best actress-comedy for “Weeds'” Tonye Patano.

Proceeds from the awards benefited the NAMIC Foundation and its Digital Bridge Alliance project.
