World Wrestling Entertainment will provide about 100 video clips each month to AT&T’s wireless phone customers under a content deal the two parties announced today.

The partnerships calls for WWE to provide an Internet portal to mobile phones for WWE content that will include videos, ringtones and graphics. Some of the WWE content will be included in AT&T’s basic video package, but most will be offered through a $4.99 premium package.

By the end of the third quarter of 2006, the United States counted about 5.1 million mobile video subscribers, double the number at the end of first quarter ’06, according to mobile research firm Telephia.

Instrumental in the deal was Tom Barreca, executive VP at WWE Digital.
