BET Adds Three VPs

BET Networks Chairman and CEO Debra Lee today announced the appointment of three new executives as part of the network’s initiative to expand its digital platforms and its audience.

Janet Rollé will join the network as executive VP and chief marketing officer, Jeanine Liburd joins as senior VP of communications and public affairs and Alvin Bowles as senior VP of integrated marketing.

Ms. Rollé will oversee all of BET Networks’ domestic marketing activities for its cable television networks, the Digital Media Group, which includes BET.com, BET Mobile and BET OnDemand, and current business initiatives. She most recently served AOL as VP and general manager of AOL Black Voices and Women’s and Lifestyle Programming after holding various upper level positions at MTV Networks and HBO. Ms. Rollé is a graduate of Purchase College in New York and has an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Ms. Liburd comes from Viacom, where she served as senior VP of corporate communications and as VP for MTV Networks before that. At BET, she will be responsible for managing communications, public relations, public affairs and special events. Ms. Liburd is a graduate of Vassar College and holds an M.S. in Urban Policy from The New School University.

Mr. Bowles will leave his position as publisher for AOL Black Voices to join BET. Before that, he held senior positions with the Time Warner Corporate Global Marketing Group, Sony Music and JP Morgan. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Harvard Business School.
