Against a backdrop of repeats and weak originals, ABC won the night with a “Desperate Housewives” clip show.

The “Housewives” recap, titled “The Juiciest Bites,” tied a 10 p.m. airing of CBS’s “Cold Case” as the highest-rated program last night, besting originals such as NBC’s “The Apprentice” and Fox’s “King of the Hill.”

ABC’s lineup included “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (2.7 among adults 18 to 49, according to preliminary Nielsen ratings, and 4.8 household rating), an “Extreme Makeover” repeat, the “Housewives” clip show (3.0 / 5.5 HH) and an original “Brothers & Sisters” (3.3 / 6.5 HH).

CBS was second in the demo (and first in households) with “60 Minutes” (2.0 / 7.4 HH), back-to-back episodes of the “Amazing Race: All Stars” (2.7 and 3.3 / 5.1 and 5.5 HH) and “Cold Case” (3.5 / 8.3 HH).

Fox was third with a mix of repeats and originals in its comedy lineup, with originals of “War at Home” (1.8 / 2.3 HH), “King of the Hill” (3.1 /3.9 HH) and “American Dad” (2.9 /3.7 HH).

In fourth place, NBC’s originals included a two-hour “Dateline” (1.8 / 5.1 HH) and the lowest-rated 10 p.m. “The Apprentice” yet (2.2 / 4.1 HH).

The CW aired repeats and averaged a 0.6 rating and 1.1 HH.

Over the weekend, a few notes: CBS ruled Saturday with NCAA basketball coverage, averaging a 4.2 rating (7.8 HH).

On Friday, mid-season replacements continued to wither, including the return of ABC’s “Six Degrees” (1.1 / 2.4 HH), NBC’s “Raines” (1.9 / 4.7 HH) and Fox’s “The Wedding Bells” (1.5 / 3.0 HH) leaving CBS to win the night.
