“Da Vinci” is taking on YouTube.

Syndicator Program Partners has entered a strategic relationship with viral video behemoth YouTube. Under terms of the agreement, the distributor will launch the Internet premiere of new episodes of syndicated procedural drama “Da Vinci’s Inquest” first on the site before they hit stations in syndication.

“Dominic Da Vinci is definitely expanding his horizons,” said Josh Raphaelson, co-founder of Program Partners. “He moves into the mayor’s office and goes right on YouTube. Longtime fans and many new ones will be excited to find him there.”

Program Partners had been seeking avenues in recent months to expand its broadband initiative and find new avenues for multiplatform distribution.

“When Internet users search for video online, they go to YouTube,” said Dave Hutchinson, senior vice president of new media for Program Partners. “Premiering new episodes of ‘Da Vinci’s Inquest’ there shows how seriously we take this platform and its audience.”
