It’s never too late to honor Lucille Ball—particularly for a network that celebrates classic TV.
TV Land will hold its fifth annual TV Land Awards April 14, with the ceremony to air on the network April 22 at 9 p.m. The awards show will be rebroadcast on Nick at Night at 11 p.m. that night.
Kelly Ripa is the host.
If you remember Ms. Ball’s classic turn as a conveyor belt worker in a chocolate factory, you might be amused to find out that the awards are presented by M&M’s candies.
Carol Burnett, a legendary TV comedian in her own right, will present the Legacy of Laughter Award to Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr.
The casts of “The Brady Bunch,” “Hee Haw” and “Taxi” also will receive awards.
Also, TV Land will present its Future Classic Award to a new show that may someday be remembered as a classic.
TV Land, an MTV Networks channel, is designed to appeal to baby boomers. The award show is designed to bring them fond memories of a youth spent sitting around in front of the tube.
“Our honorees embody what [baby] boomers really love about television—the best of comedy, drama and music,” said Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land. “From a screwball redhead to a gripping family saga to great musical performances, TV Land will celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of this very diverse group of talented entertainers.”

  1. Consumers really want people to adore and glamorize ; I don’t . People who are widley known for being famous use up excessive space in our lives and are also far too overpayed.

  2. Keep focusing on your blog. I love how we can all express our feelings. This is an extremely nice blog here 🙂

  3. Excellent post with some good info, think i’ll share this on my twitter if you do not mind and maybe even blogroll it depending on the feedback, thanks for sharing
