TelevisionWeek is trawling video-sharing Web sites to find the hottest clips spreading on the Internet.
The setup: OK, so it’s glaringly self-referential. But who hasn’t wondered about the faces behind YouTube? Not the viral video stars, but the employees themselves. Prepare to be bewitched by tales of clandestine love affairs, a summerlong stint in a treehouse and a Bollywood star. Near the end of the video we learn a darker truth: A dog is responsible for viewing all the flagged content on YouTube. Maybe that explains Viacom’s $1 billion lawsuit.
The source: YouTube posted the video to YouTube on March 30 in celebration of April Fool’s Day.
The hits: By April 3, the video had generated nearly 800,000 views.
