Hallmark Channel today signed a multi-year renewal of its distribution agreement with the National Cable Television Cooperative.
Going into this year, most of Hallmark’s carriage agreements were due to expire and the channel needed to renew those deals and increase the license fees it receives from cable and satellite operators.
Terms of the deal with NCTC, which negotiates deals on behalf of 1,100 medium and small sized operators, was not disclosed.
“Following our successful recent renewals with EchoStar and Mediacom, we are delighted to announce the renewal of this affiliation agreement with the NCTC because its member companies have been among our ‘very best’ partners,” said Henry Schleiff, President and CEO, Crown Media Holdings, which owns and operates Hallmark Channel. “Indeed, this agreement reflects both NCTC’s and Hallmark Channel’s emphasis on quality, fair price and service to our respective subscribers and viewers.”
“Hallmark Channel is a top ten rated network with original movies and classic series. It has been one of the most launched cable networks by our members the past few years, said Jeff Abbas, NCTC President and CEO.
