MySpace Rolls Out Branded Content Channels

MySpace inked deals with more than a dozen lifestyle and news brands to launch branded content channels on its site in the coming months.
The social networking site will launch channels on MySpace Video for National Geographic, the New York Times, Reuters, Animation Show, the Daily Reel, Expert Village, Flow, IGN Entertainment, Kush TV, Octane TV, LX.TV, Ripe TV, Studio411, VBS.tv and Young Hollywood.
The rollout of these channels is part of MySpace’s push to draw more online video consumers into its site.
The National Geographic Channel on MySpace will include short-form content from the archives and from current TV shows, as well as Web originals. The New York Times will provide video on national news, movie reviews, politics, cooking and other topics for its MySpace channel.
