The setup: Oh, it’s almost too easy: yet another celebrity behaving badly in private. So move over Alec, Britney and Mel, you’ve got company in David Hasselhoff. In this clip, the bare-chested, bloated and apparently inebriated Mr. Hasselhoff, he of former “Knight Rider” and “Baywatch” notoriety and now the star of the Paris Hotel’s production of “The Producers” in Vegas, is barely able to eat a cheeseburger while sprawled on his side.
The source: “Entertainment Tonight” received the video, reportedly shot three months ago by Mr. Hasselhoff’s daughter, who asks him not to drink in the video. In a follow-up report, Mr. Hasselhoff stated through his attorney that he is a recovered alcoholic and that his daughter shot the video to remind him of how he behaves when drinking.
The hits: The clips starting landing on YouTube May 3. Collectively, they had earned more than 3.5 million views by May 8.
Hollywood hi-jinks fail to be news. I really don’t worry about how ridiculous famous and rich people today might be.
