Fox reclaimed its top-ranked position last night with their summer reality hit “So You Think You Can Dance” while the second season premiere of ABC’s “American Inventor” got off to a solid start.
“Dance” lead the night with a 4.4 rating among adults 18 to 49, according to preliminary Nielsens, enough to win the night for Fox in the demo and in households.
ABC was second with “Next Best Thing: Who Is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator” (2/7, up 8 percent from last week’s debut). The premiere of “American Inventor” earned a 3.0, a good number for a summer reality show up against “Dance,” though down 44 percent from its in-season March premiere last year. At 10 p.m., the drama “Traveler” earned a 1.8.
CBS was third for the night with repeats. NBC was fourth with Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals (1.2). On The CW, “Hidden Palms” dropped from sight with a 0.4 rating, down from last week’s premiere rating of 1.2. “One Tree Hill” had a 0.9.
