John MacDonald has been named senior VP of content programming and strategy for MTV.
The hiring of Mr. MacDonald completes the reorganization of the network’s series and programming group under executive VP of series development Tony DiSanto.
Mr. MacDonald, most recently president of content and programming at Veoh Networks, will be responsible for the supervision of the linear television schedule and content distribution across platforms.
“The business of content programming and distribution is evolving at lightning speed,” said Brian Graden, president of entertainment, MTV Networks Music & Logo Group.
“I’m confident that John’s knowledge and abilities will allow us to continually stay ahead of the game and to envision a new model for future programming growth across our multiple platforms.”
