Revenue for mobile video tripled in the first quarter, according to a report released today.
Mobile research firm Telephia found that mobile TV subscription revenues grew 198 percent year over year to $146 million in the first quarter of 2007.
Telephia also reported that 4 percent of the mobile population in the United States, or 8.4 million people, subscribe to mobile video. Nearly half say they are willing to view ads on their mobile phone in exchange for something.
