MySpace fired up The Minisode Network in partnership with Sony Pictures Television Tuesday as part of the social network site’s efforts to offer more TV content.
The Minisode Network launches with three repurposed episodes from each of 15 classic series such as “Starsky & Hutch,” “TJ Hooker,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “Diff’rent Strokes,” “Facts of Life,” “Silver Spoons,” and “Who’s the Boss?”
Sony has trimmed each episode to a sparse three to five minutes, but said it’s retained the story arc from the original episode. The Minisode Network represents Sony’s efforts to monetize its library content for the current Internet video consumer.
Honda is on board as the launch sponsor and will run a 3-second billboard and 5-second spot at the start of each episode in keeping with the shortened theme of the network.
