The National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) announced the events for its first annual LATV festival Monday.
The festival, an extension of the annual TV Producers’ Boot camp, will have a digital day, the NextGen TV competition and screenings for episodes of “Lost,” “The Office,” “Supernanny,” “Weeds” and “America’s Next Producer.” Each screening will be followed by a moderated panel discussion featuring showrunners and executives. Selected screenings will be part of a three-day breakfast series.
NATPE’s NextGen TV competition will recognize emerging content creators in three categories: original video content, shorts and best new series idea. There will be various cash prizes for the winners and runner ups as well as a pitch consultation for the best new series idea.
The LATV Festival Digital Day will offer various panels and demonstrations including an event sponsored by Yahoo. The Digital Coast Roundtable and AFI Digital Content Lab will also participate.
The festival will be held July 25-27, 2007. The full schedule can be found at the festival’s official site.
