Repeats Rule Sunday

From ABC’s “Fast Cars & Superstars” to Fox’s “The Loop,” Sunday night viewers seemed to prefer reruns of proven hits over new summer fare.
NBC led with a two-hour “Dateline” (2.2) and a repeat of the “Last Comic Standing” (2.1). CBS was second with “60 Minutes” (1.2) and a trio of procedural repeats. The procedurals once again proved to have stronger repeat value than traditionally higher-rated serialized shows such as ABC’s “Desperate Housewives.” Fox was third with half-hour comedy repeats, along with a couple new episodes of “The Loop” (both 1.2.). ABC was fourth thanks to repeats and “Fast Cars” (0.7). The CW was fifth with repeats.
Over the weekend, the fourth broadcast airing of “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” (1.7) won Saturday night for ABC.
On Friday, CBS’s salute to daytime programming took the lead with a special airing of Bob Barker’s final “Price Is Right” episode (2.2) followed by the two-hour telecast of the 34th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards (2.0, up 18 percent over last year’s program, which aired for three hours on ABC).

  1. NBC is suposed to air repeats of “Friday Night Lights” on Sunday nights , throught the summer and had already begun doing so.
Last Sunday ‘Lights’ wasn’t on and looking at the schedule for next Sunday , it’s not on again either. Looking at NBC’s ‘Lights’ web site , it still says it is on Sundays.
Can you tell me if NBC has dropped ‘Lights’ re-runs on Sunday nights (probably due to extremely low ratings) all together or if it will return to Sundays , and if so , when?

  2. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  3. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
