HBO has signed Uma Thurman to star in its original movie “My Zinc Bed.”
Jonathan Pryce and Paddy Considine also will star in the film, a co-production with the BBC.
Production has begun in London on the movie, with a screenplay by David Hare based on his play.
Anthony Page is directing “My Zinc Bed,” a tale of addiction and obsession in which a young alcoholic becomes involved with his boss’s wife.
“Once again, this is further proof that great writing attracts great talent,” said Colin Callender, president of HBO Films. “We are thrilled to be working with David Hare—he truly is a writer in a league of his own. It is a testament to his provocative script, and to director Anthony Page, that we have been able to bring together such a wonderful cast of distinguished actors.”
Ms. Thurman won a Golden Globe for the HBO film “Hysterical Blindness.”
