Viral Video: Manager Goes Crazy

The setup: If you’re going to get kicked out of a baseball game, you might as well go down in a blaze of glory. Mississippi Braves manager Phillip Wellman was ousted from a minor league game on June 1 after he stormed out of the dugout to protest the ejection of his pitcher. He threw his hat, covered the home plate with dirt, ripped out third base and flung it across the field, military crawled to the pitcher’s mound, tossed the rosin bag like a grenade, tore out second base, and for the piece de resistance, he blew kisses to the crowd before he left the field. He earned a three-game suspension, the adoration of the crowd and Internet fame.

The hits: The video hit YouTube June 2 and amassed more than 1 million views by June 7.
