Fox Business Network Sets Launch Date

Jul 11, 2007  •  Post A Comment

The long-awaited Fox Business Network will launch on Oct. 15. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon from Neil Cavuto, Fox News senior VP and managing editor of business news.
The channel, which has long been a gleam in the eye of News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch, has carriage commitments adding up to 30 million subscribers in top markets around the country, including the world’s financial capital — New York — where it will be seen on expanded basic cable.
The venture, as previously announced, will be headquartered in News Corporation’s street level studios in midtown Manhattan. Bureaus also have been established in major markets such as Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco (for Silicon Valley), Washington, D.C., and London.
Fox News Executive VP Kevin Magee will be responsible for the channel’s day-to-day operations, while Mr. Cavuto will direct content and business news coverage and serve in an on-air capacity. Mr. Cavuto will report to Mr. Magee and to Roger Ailes, chairman and CEO of Fox News and chairman of Fox Television Stations, and Fox Business Network.

  2. ps – Brenda Buttner deserves better, she’s a decent reporter/analyst. Let her get back to being a journalist rather than a romper room hostess.
