Deborah “DJ” Wilson has been named president and general manager of KGW-TV, the Belo-owned NBC affiliate in Portland, Ore. She has spent the last two years as president and general manager of Belo’s CBS affiliate KREM-TV and CW affiliate KSKN-TV in Spokane, Wash.
Ms. Wilson will report to David Lougee, executive VP of Media Operations for the station group. At KGW, she succeeds Paul Fry, recently promoted to VP of investor relations and corporate communications for Belo.
“DJ’s superior leadership and management skills, along with her 23 years of experience in the Northwest region, make her an excellent choice for this important role,” Mr. Lougee said in Thursday’s announcement.
From 2002 to 2005, Ms. Wilson held leadership roles at NBC-affiliated KING-TV and independent KONG-TV, and at NorthWest Cable News in Seattle/Tacoma from November 2002 to June 2005. She spent 10 years (in two stints) in sales management positions at KIRO-TV.
