Online video site Metacafe has raised $30 million in Series C financing, led in part by new investors Highland Capital Partners and DAG Ventures.
Existing investors Accel Partners and Benchmark Capital also participated in the round of financing.
The company said the money raised today will help Metacafe continue its global growth by increasing its quantity and quality of content.
With more than 25 million unique viewers each month, , according to comScore Media Metrix numbers from June, Metacafe is one of the world’s largest video sites.
Highland Capital Partners’ Richard de Silva and DAG Ventures’ Tom Goodrich will join the Metacafe board of directors.
Continuing the shakeups, Metacafe co-founder Arik Czerniak will distance himself from day-to-day operations in order to pursue other entrepreneurial interests, but will advise the company and remain on the board.
