CNN Names Borger Senior Political Analyst

Sep 12, 2007  •  Post A Comment

CNN has hired U.S. News & World Report contributing editor Gloria Borger as a senior political analyst based in Washington, D.C.
Her assignments will include the prime-time program being developed for former NBC newswoman Campbell Brown as well as other CNN programming.
Ms. Borger, whose gig as national political correspondent for CBS News ended earlier this year, also has been a regular on the public broadcasting show “Washington Week in Review.”
“Gloria’s got an unrivaled Rolodex among the people who make news—and make or break presidents —in Washington. She’s always a step ahead in knowing what’s about to happen and why, which will make CNN an even more interesting and essential destination for viewers who want the inside track on this election free-for-all,” CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein said in the announcement of Ms. Borger’s hire.

  1. Why don’t you all tatoo Republican across Gloria Borger’s forehead. Come on can’t you all do better than that. Give me a break. It is obvious that you have totally sold out to the RIGHT. Where do I go to get the real news. Perhaps Europe.

  2. Re; Ms. Borger’s comments recently fererring to the McClellen book. “what if the pres. was lied to?” He’s supposed to be the top dog, smart enough to realize if he’s being set up. “nobody cares about this anymore” Maybe if the “free” press would get off their butts and do some work, we would be informed like we were decades ago. The pandering about nobody cares, papers are going out of style, nobody reads, what if we are wrong???, Stand up on your hind legs and be a real journalist…not just a tv talking head with nothing useful to say.
People like this are the reason why we are going to hell in a handbasket, with our stupidity intact. MSNBC is hinting that they are going to air progressive views because the airwaves are inundated with rightwingnuts philosophy, and rates are dropping. The few liberal voices are making a statement that needs to be heard, and there is a large audience waiting for it. Now you seem to be going the wrong way. Wolfe is a shill, Lou Dobbs is unwatchable, many of the daytime hosts, especially the women, are ditzy, uninformed, unprofessional, etc. Where is TED when we need him???

  4. I am concern about the thousands of Republicans who registered to vote during the Democratic Party primary in Pennsylvania. How does it affect the election results in Pa and How will it affect the upcoming primaries/caucuses? Remember, the Republicans are doing what they can do to win the White House. No one in the Democratic Party is paying attention. All of those registering to vote from the Republicans are voting for Hillary Clinton. Here are the reasons why;
1.) Hillary voted for the war in Iraq as McCain did. What is there to arque. It is only meaning that McCain or Republican goes back because they are the best to handle the war.
2.) Republicans are thinking and organizing the strtegic tool to beat Hillary, because they know they would. Another Clinton in the white house is unbelievable. Most American do not want that so they would rather vote for McCain.
3.) Hillary made up stories of her experiece and lied, this is a minus for her as she can not be trusted as reviewed in her rating
    and we can go on.
In concluding, the Republicans voted overwhelmingly for Hillary. Let’s think critically, Hillary win in Pa can not be Democrats alone.

  5. Gloria Borger is a super star and how fortunate CNN is to have her. I find her honest, objective and every bit a lady – which is hard with Jack Cafferty, the cynical, sarcastic, grumpy old man
    on the panel.
As the campaign began to change – meaning hope for Senator Clinton – Ms. Borger was the only one with an objective commentary. She acknowledged that Senator Obama was ahead in votes and delegates but her intellect and knowledge shone through as she talked about electability, the “wins” in Florida and Michigan (voters do count). But Cafferty continuously interrupted in his usual “know it all” sarcastic manner.
Gloria, don’t let him get away with it! Like Hillary – fight back – but in your charmingly lady-like intellectual fashion. He is quite rude and Wolf should reign him in.
I graduated from Journalism School shortly after you were born and you are a true journalist and there just aren’t many of you today.

  6. Gloria Borger is a bore.
    No original ideas.
    Whiny.
    And stupid.
I’ve a long family history of libs and conservatives, she is an idiot, lacking knowledge of how the average person thinks and votes.
Good Lord, what a self important sycophant for CNN.
    You should be ashamed.
