“Better,” Meredith Corp.’s weekday lifestyle hour that starts its season Monday in 12 markets, will be hosted on the West Coast by Kimberly Maus and from the East Coast by Audra Lowe.
“Better” started its slow national rollout in the 9 a.m. slot on Meredith’s Fox affiliate KPTV-TV in Portland, Ore. Next week it debuts on nine more Meredith stations nationwide, as well as on three Journal Broadcast Group stations.
Ms. Maus has anchored “Better” on KPTV, where it is Portland, Ore.’s, most-watched morning show, for the past year.
Ms. Lowe will anchor from Meredith’s studio in New York City. She most recently worked for Fox Sports in Los Angeles.
The show leverages expertise in Meredith home, shelter and parenting magazine titles including Better Homes & Gardens, More, Family Circle and Parents. Stations can localize eight minutes of the show, which is rolling out in national syndication.
“Viewers, advertisers and broadcast groups have been very receptive to the product Meredith Video Solutions is creating,” Meredith Broadcasting Group President Paul Karpowicz said in Tuesday’s announcement. “They are delivering service-based information to consumers in a highly engaging way, while giving advertisers a new way to connect with viewers.”
The show also is available online at www.better.tv, the Meredith broadband channel.
