Oprah Is TV’s Top Money Maker, According to Forbes

Talk show giant Oprah Winfrey ranked first on Forbes magazine’s list of 2007’s top paid television celebrities, taking in $260 million between June 2006 and June 2007.
Ms. Winfrey led the list by a considerable margin, making $200 million more than her closest competitor, Jerry Seinfeld, who placed second on the list by taking home $60 million during that same time period.
Rounding out the top five are “American Idol’s” Simon Cowell ($45 million), talk show host David Letterman ($40 million) and “The Apprentice’s” Donald Trump ($32 million).
The entire 20-person list took home a total of $723 million.
The top 20 are:

17. Matt Lauer, $13 million
18. Barbara Walters, $12 million
19. Diane Sawyer, $12 million
20. Meredith Vieira, $10 million

    And what were the numbers on that show last season?
    And how much is that per ratings point?
    How much in product placement is that show making, anyway? And how many eyes on product do those fees buy?
    Because at this point, I have to believe that aligning your product with this man is just bad marketing. I mean, does anyone like the guy?

  4. I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
