TBS ordered a second season of its family sitcom “The Bill Engvall Show.”
“The Bill Engvall Show” launched in July. Its premiere was one of the top-rated sitcoms of all time on ad-supported cable. Year-to-date, it ranks as cable’s No. 2 sitcom among adults 18 to 49, behind “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne,” which also airs on TBS.
Season two will have 10 episodes.
“Working with Bill and the wonderful and immensely talented people behind his show has been a great experience, and we couldn’t be happier about continuing that relationship on this, TBS’ first in-house production,” said Michael Wright, senior VP in charge of the content creation group for TBS, TNT and TBS.
Mr. Engvall will be hosting “Blue Collar Comedy: The Next Generation,” a special being shot at HBO and AEG Live’s Comedy Festival, to air Nov. 17.
